In Anchorage, we believe in the Golden Rule, to treat others as we would want to be treated. That’s why a majority Anchorage citizens agree that it’s time to update our laws to protect our hard-working gay and transgender friends, family, and neighbors.
Right now in Anchorage, a gay or transgender person can still be fired from their job or evicted from their apartment based solely on their sexual orientation or gender identity. That simply doesn’t represent Anchorage values and it is time we change it.
